Every Indian matching system starts from the same place: the Moon’s sign and birth star at each partner’s birth. What differs is how they are compared. Guna Milan scores eight factors out of 36; the South Indian porutham system grades ten factors and gives special weight to Rajju and Dina.
Tarachakra calculates the charts once and then applies the rules of the tradition you choose, so a Tamil family sees poruthams and a Punjabi family sees gunas, from the same precise positions.
The one your family and astrologer use. Broadly, North and West India use Guna Milan, Tamil Nadu and Kerala use 10 Porutham, and Andhra, Telangana and Karnataka often use both.
The core is shared with porutham, and full Sri Lankan porondam is on the way. We will only add it when we can match how Sri Lankan astrologers calculate it.
